5 Tips to Refresh Your Space For Summer

So, yeah, summer is here and your home needs to show it! Here are some easy

helpful tips that won't break the bank to bring in some of that sunshine!

Let's start off by discussing what a difference it makes when your home gets a refresher. When you change little things, you start to appreciate even the small things about your home. Now we can't move every time we find our homes boring, so we just move the décor or change the look. And you'll LOVE these tips!

1. Add Fresh Flowers

There really isn't anything that screams summer more than fresh cut flowers! They bring life, color, and even purifies your air that can literally refresh your home. It's amazing how these delicate forms of nature can brighten an entire room with a single bloom.

You don't have to be a florist to put an arrangement together. Whether it's a single bloom or pretty green eucalyptus, it will do in a simple vase. Some of my top spots to grab a bloom or two are Trader Joe's and Publix.

2. Pillows

This is probably the easiest way to be able to add summer hues and freshness to your space without splurging. Explore with some organic prints, florals, or any other bright patterns. This will be a quick way to introduce vibrancy and interest to a room that may seem too boring or blah.

3. Fill Dispensers With Crisp Scented Soaps and Lotions in Bathrooms

We can't forget about the bathroom! When it comes to summer scents to fill your dispensers, you can choose anything from citrus to floral, and everything in between!

You can even get colorful and bright with the style of dispensers and select summer colors to add some brightness to your bathroom. And if you're in the mood to do another quick change in your bathroom, go ahead and look for a summer-ish shower curtain. You can really get fun bringing out different colors from it with your new dispensers. I'm getting excited thinking about changing mine already!

4. Incorporate Natural and Cool Light

Lighting is an element that can single-handedly change an atmosphere in a space. It can go from light and cheerful to dark and gloomy, all because of light! So when it's hot outdoors, you naturally want your home comfortably chilled. Your bulbs will give off a light temperature that is going to read warm or cool. So next time you are in the store and need to replace a bulb, pay attention to your light temp. Look for bright full spectrum or cool daylight bulbs.

Let's not forget natural light! It has great benefits for not only making your room look brighter, but it is even a natural disinfectant and deodorizer. You can't beat that!

5. Light Filtering Window Treatments

In order to enhance natural light, you'll need light filtering window treatments if you plan to have any. Whether you choose curtains, shades, or blinds they don't need to be too heavy for the summer time. They don't have to be sheer either. There are many styles and transparency options to choose from.
