3 Easy Ways to Update Your Bathroom

Updated: Aug 11, 2021

Ever just wanted a refresh but don't have enough time or moolah to do a full on remodel? Following these simple tips will not only save you some money but are easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Change Out Hardware/Paint Vanity

Yep! Get some new knobs, pulls, light switch covers, and electrical outlet covers. Going for a warm, #cozy feel? Try an oiled bronze finish. Going for a more polished look? Get a brushed nickel finish. Or wanting to go #glam and #blingy? Try clear crystal-like hardware. There are so many looks and finishes to choose from now to suit any style!

Quick tip: Be sure if you are replacing drawer pulls (or handles) that you measure how many inches apart your screws need to be. These can come in a variety of sizes. The best way is to measure on the inside of the drawer.

Picking a color to paint the vanity can seem daunting, especially when you need to make sure it compliments the existing floor and wall color. Think a minute about how you want to feel when walking into your bathroom. Want to feel refreshed? Try a powder blue. Going for a more interesting vibe? Emerald green! You can even get mysterious with a rich navy!

2. Unclutter Your Counter

This is a perfect chance for you to throw away some of those products and cosmetics you know you don't even use or feel guilty that you bought. Uh-huh, this part doesn't even cost you a dime!

A clean and tidy countertop always stands out

So what about all the products that you DO use that is on your counter? Why not use a big enough decorative container with a lid (not transparent) to store all of your products. This does the job of #storage and #decluttering in one spot to keep your counter free from disorder. You can choose to keep it on the counter or under your sink. The main idea is not having products spread all over the place.

3. Window Shade

If you're thinking that the trend of having a fishtail swag and tieback curtains is out-of-date for the bathroom, you'd be correct! Rather, a simple Roman shade gives a soft touch but not overly formal.

You don't need a whole lot of things to take away from the natural light you get in your #bathroom. Having a lightweight, simple shade will give a measure of privacy as well as give the room enough sunlight to keep down bacteria.

Keeping things light and simple is the way to go!

Using these 3 easy tips will keep your bathroom neat, clean, and refreshing!
